Recipe: Chole Bhature 


Ingredients For Chole:
•250 gm White Chick Peas or Kabuli Chana  (so•aked overnight)
•1 medium sized Onion
•2 medium sized Tomatoes
•2 Green Chilli
•Ginger – 1 inch long piece
•½ tsp Cumin Powder
•½ tspDry Mango Powder (amchur)
•1 tsp Po•megranate Powder(anardana powder)
•1 tsp Coriander Powder
•1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
•¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
•½ tspAsafoetida (hing)
•1 tsp Garam Masala
•2 tsps Chole Masala
•4 tbsps Refined Oil 
•2 tsps or as per taste Salt
•2 tsps Green Coriander (finely chopped)

Ingredients For Bhature:
•500 gm Wheat flour
•50 gm Maida or All purpose Flour
•100 gm Curd
•3/4 tbsp Salt
•3/4 tsps Baking soda 
•Oil – for deep fry


Method – How to Make Chole
•Take pressure cooker and put chickpea, salt and 4 cup water, now cook it for up to 6 to 9 whistle on a medium flame. When chickpea done drain out extra water and keep aside.
•Take a grinder, in grinder put tomatoes, green chilli and grinds it to make smooth paste.
•Heat the oil in a pan, now add onion and saute until the onion gets golden brown, now add tomato paste and saute it for 1 min.
•Add the chole masala, red chilli powder, mango powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, pomegranate powder, asafoetida, garam masala, cumin powder and salt, cook on low flame for 5 min till oil start leaving on the edges.

•When masala done now add the boiled chickpeas and 2 cup of water and mix well. Put cover on pan and cook it at low flame for 10 to 15 minutes. After 15 minutes turn off the gas and add chopped green coriander now chole is ready, keep it side.

Method – How to Make Bhature
•Take a large bowl, add maida, semolina (suji), curd, salt, baking soda and knead in soft dough. Add water if needed. Cover with wet muslin cloth and set aside for 4 to 5 hours.
•Heat oil in a deep pan.
•Divide the dough into equal parts and roll out into circles. Once oil get hot, deep fry them in hot oil until the Bhature puff up and both sides are golden brown. Deep fry bhaturas one by one.
•Take out the Bhatures on a tissue paper so extra oil gets absorbed.

Ingredients To Serve Chole Bhature:
•1 tsp Ginger Juliennes  (optional)
•Mango & Lemon Or  Green Chilli Pickle
•Onion Slices


Serving Chole Bhature

•Take severing bowl and put Chole in it and garnish it with  ginger julienne and then take serving plate and put 2 bhature on plate.
•Along with Chole Bhature serve sliced onion, green chutney, mango & lemon or green chilli pickle.
