Entertaining millions across the world, might be their core strength, but these celebs don't want to stop at that. While ditching the paparazzi and sizzling in front of the camera take up most of their time, many Bollywood A-listers have shown their hospitality business acumen too time and again.

There is also a growing trend in the actors getting their own themed restaurants dedicated to them that are promoted by their businessman fans. The actors who lend their name to such franchises not only get an ego boost but also an equal share in the profits. The actors who don't have restaurants themed on them, well they are just opening their own by themselves!

Lets have a look at some of the most popular and beautiful restaurants owned or co-owned and run by some famous Bollywood celebs seeking to leverage their brand and popularity:

BhaijaanZ
 
BhaijaanZ is dedicated to the Sultan of Bollywood Salman Khan and was inaugurated in Mumbai.The concept of restaurants being devoted to celebrities probably started with this one, where Salman Khan is the hero, after the success of his film Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Bhaijaanz was put together purely in awe of Salman. The brain child of five friends, it has everything from seating to décor, of Salman’s choice. Some of the dishes on the menu are designed and named after his movies, like anda apna apna, Salaam-E-Sandwich, Mutton Deewana Mastana, Chicken Tussi Great Ho, Machli No.1, Do You Wanna Partner, Dabangg 1, Mera Hi Jalwa, Jai Ho Veg and Dabangg 2. From Dialogue to Dishes everything you will get here is Salman Khan inspired And it has remained packed with customers ever since.

Garam Dharam (Dhaba Te Theka)
 
Dharmendra, was the next star to get a themed restaurant dedicated to him. Opened in Delhi’s Connaught Place, Garam Dharam, boasts of the dhaba culture in India, and reminds one of Dharmendra's love for food. It takes inspiration from the Bollywood icon's movies, dialogues and songs, and is decorated with popular movie posters of the Bollywood veteran's films. Like Salman Khan at BhaijaanZ, Dharmendra's presence can be felt at Garam Dharam - right from the entrance onward the walls are adorned with his posters and famous quotes. The place serves North Indian food, and desi mocktails and liquor. Some of the dishes on the menu are designed and named after his movies include Mai Balwaan Family Naan, Phool Aur Pathhar Ke Kabab, Amritsari Pindi Sholay, Mere Humdum Mere Gosht, Jheel Ke Uss Paar, Mast Kahandar Handi Ke Andar, Mera Gaon Mera Desh and Dharm Veer Kesar Kheer.

Simultaneously, Dharmendra is building a 30-cottage resort on a 12-acre farm in Lonavala branded 'Kulli Yaar Di,' which means 'a friend's house.' While the resort project is completely owned by the actor, the restaurant chain will be in partnership with Umang Tewari and Mickey Mehta.

Hero No. 1
 
The third hero to get a dedicated theme restaurant is Govinda. Named after his popular 1997 film, Hero No. 1, the restaurant is in Rajouri Garden area of west Delhi. The restaurant offers food from a multi-cuisine menu with live music. Over here the starters, salads, soups, main course dishes and soups named after Bollywood’s evergreen comedian Govinda films. These include Albela Falafal, Pardesi Burritos, Ankhiyon Se Fries Maare (Starters), Kunwara Greek and Dulaara Salad (Saalads), Hum Corn Pe Marte Hai and  Shola Aur Shabnam (Soups),  Awaargi Hyderabadi Biryani and Anari No.1 Mutton Biryani (Main Course). Apart from these there are also a few drinks named after Govinda like Berry Partner, Akela Berry, Love 86 and Govinda Groove.

Asha’s
 
Asha Bhosle, the singing veteran not just pleases with her melodies, but even gives the flavour of Indian food to NRIs. Asha’s was the first celebrity Indian restaurant, which started in India and spread across the globe (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Birmingham and now Manchester). The menu is North and West Indian, and the decor contemporary, reflecting a sense of modern Indian affluence. The food chain serves some lip smacking Indian spices and aromas.

Calendar’s Kitchen
 
Satish Kaushik’s new restaurant is called Calendar’s Kitchen - dedicated to his character ‘Calendar’ in the 90’s Bollywood film, Mr. India. Since it is based on the movie, Mr. India, it gained much popularity even before opening. Opened in Rajouri Garden you must visit this place if you’re a Mr.India fan! This isn’t the first time that Satish Kaushik has forayed into the restaurant space. He had also opened Khana Unlimited in Connaught Place about a decade ago, which didn’t work very well and had to be shut down.

Someplace Else, Curry & Spice, Suhana and Zion
 
Bobby Deol may have not done very well in his acting career, but he sure has gained some fans with his restaurants. Bobby Deol turned entrepreneur when he jumped into the restaurant business with his first venture named Someplace Else. It is located in Andheri and has a lovely combination of Indo-Chinese food.

Following its success he opened a second branch, of Someplace Else in Navi Mumbai.This amazing eatery tucked in Navi Mumbai has a vibrant ambience. The place sports some lip smacking Indo-Chinese cuisine and really lives up to its name. It has a 24-hour coffee shop and a barbeque restaurant area called Curry & Spice.

But his prized possession is the Kolkata outlet of Someplace Else. A pub that he started in Park Hotel at the Park Street, Kolkata. The pub offers various kinds of drinks and food. The pub hosts approximately nine hours of live music every day. Famous bands like Skinny Alley, Hip Pocket, Lou Majaw, Prestorika, Parikrama, Indian Ocean, Krosswindz, Underground Authority, Them Clones and international bands have also performed in the pub. Open mic sessions are held once a month where any band/artist can perform. Many school bands get an opportunity to show their talent at open mic sessions. The session is not restricted to musicians alone but also includes original poetry, stand-up comedy, mime and solo acting.

Bobby also owns another eatery called Suhana, this serves sumptuous Indian delicacies and Zion for exclusive Chinese fare. Both these places are located in Mumbai’s Andheri,

Mischief Dining Bar and Club H20
 
Suneil Shetty has been in the restaurant business even before he entered Bollywood. He started Mischief Dining Bar more than a couple of decades back. His father was a hotelier and that did help him in the hospitality business.

Following the success of Mischief Dining Bar Suniel was inspired to start Club H2O, a cafe that combines water sports and great food. So essentially, you can go for a swim whilst you wait for awesome food.  It is an ultimate luxury paradise that ticks all the boxes when it comes to offering a celeb style lavish dining experience. Their Long Island Iced Teas are extremely popular.

LAP
 
Model turned actor Arjun Rampal owns a plush lounge bar known as LAP in New Delhi. It is a part of Hotel Samrat in Chanakyapuri and has a breathtaking look and feel. Arjun Rampal launched LAP in 2009 and his chic discotheque has been a popular hangout spot ever since. LAP was in the news recently for the wrong reasons though when Arjun hit a man while DJaying in the lounge.

The Elbo Room

The quirky comedian of Bollywood laid hands in the food industry with Mumbai’s first all singles bar. The Elbo Room has the Club Goin Up…On a Tuesday! It offers Live BBQ with an exotic choice of dishes prepared right in front of you. They also have a cocktail menu called & Sins! But the real essence of this place is in its Okonomiyaki, a Japanese pancake that has chicken, seafood and veggies. Located in Khar, Mumbai, The Elbo Room gives out a very British pub feel and has its share of fans in the city.

Monarch
 
With the popular Monarch chain of hotels in Ooty and Mysore, Mithun Chalraborty, the disco dancer danced his way into the south way before any other star. And well, he set the standards too high for anyone to match it.

Royalty Club

Royalty Club, was owned by Shilpa Shetty, the most stylish actress of Bollywood. But after a year, Sohail Khan purchased it from Shilpa. Like Shilpa, Sohail Khan too couldn’t run it and the place is now taken over by Salman Khan's business partner Prashant Gunjalkar, the main man behind BhaijaanZ. The place is an international standard night pub which has a European touch. Located in Bandra, Mumbai, with superior style clubbing, Royalty Club is a perfect example of an elevated style, apt for party enthusiasts. It includes a fancy champagne lounge and speak-easy style bars that serve the most exclusive selection of beverages.

Bangali Mashi’s Kitchen

 
The former Miss Universe stole many hearts with her beauty says that she is very much fond of traditional Bengali food. So much, that she made it an agenda to provide everyone with real flavours at reasonable prices at her food outlet Bangali Mashi’s Kitchen in Navi Mumbai.

Crepe Station Café
Started by Dino Morea and his brother, Crepe Station Cafe is one of the fastest growing cafe chains in Mumbai with branches in Malad, Andheri and Bandra. They serve European delicacies and the crepes are delicious. They have mouth-watering waffles, pancakes and Eggs Benedict.

Balthazar

 
Owned by Anita Raj, Balthazar, is a Chinese restaurant in Juhu, Mumbai. It is a fine dining restaurant with an awe-inspiring ambience and has delicious cuisine at standard rates. A perfect choice of location makes the property a centre of attraction.


Gondola

 
Owned by Perizaad Zorabian, Gondola is a multi-cuisine restaurant and serves Indian and Chinese, amongst others. Located in Bandra’s Pali Hill (Mumbai), the multi-cuisine restaurant is where one can find sumptuous sizzlers and lip smacking seafood.
