Recipe - Jhatpat Chicken Stew by Suhel Johar



Ingredients:

  • 300 gms Boneless Chicken cubes
  • 3 medium sized chopped Onions
  • 2 large diced Tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoon Ginger Garlic paste
  • 1 big Bay leaf
  • 10 Black Pepper corns
  • 7 Cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 7 big Green Chillies
  • 4 teaspoon vegetable Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Water
  • 5-6 stems of Coriander leaves


Method:
  1. Boil the chicken in a pressure cooker along with the onions, tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, green chillies, turmeric powder, cloves, black pepper corn, bay leaf.
  2. Heat a teaspoon of oil in a pan. Add the cumin seeds to it. As the cumin seeds start to crackle. Add the tadka to the chicken.
  3. Garnish the stew with Coriander leaves and serve hot with Steamed Rice or Parathas or Naan.
