Will Jagga Jasoos Be Ranbir Kapoor’s First And Last Film As A Producer? by Suhel Johar



 
Ranbir Kapoor, the actor is on a high these days but what about Ranbir Kapoor, the producer?

Ranbir, who was going through a lean phase as an actor was back in the reckoning after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil broke his dry spell at the box-office, plans to focus his energies on his acting career.

Yes, reportedly Ranbir Kapoor is tired of the duties of a producer after just one attempt. It was with great fanfare that Ranbir launched Picture Shuru Production with his Barfi! director Anurag Basu. They announced Jagga Jasoos as their first project and it took them almost four years to get the film ready to hit theatres.

According to sources, Anurag’s constant retakes and rescheduling tired out Ranbir, who now wants to simply act without worrying about locations, finances and other aspects of film production. The film went over-budget after Anurag re-shot a major portion of the film.

Ranbir’s mother Neetu Singh has reportedly stated that her star son has decided to put production duties on the backburner for now and instead focus on his acting career. 

So It may just happen that Jagga Jasoos, which stars Ranbir opposite his ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif, might be the first and last film to be launched under Picture Shuru Productions.
 
 
Interestingly, Ranbir Kapoor was set to produce the sequel of Anurag Basu’s Life In A Metro, in fact it was the first film that he was to produce before Jagga Jasoos happened. So wonder if the project is still on.

According to reports, Basu has confirmed that the project is on and he will collaborate with the actor and his dear friend, Ranbir as a producer for the LIAM sequel. Though the ace director wishes to cast the actor in one of the lead roles in the sequel, he has left it on Ranbir to decide for himself.

For now Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Basu along with Katrina Kaif  are devoting all their time and engeries in promoting Jagga Jasoos which is scheduled to release on July 14, two days before Katrina’s birthday.  
 
 
The trailer of the film has managed to garner eye for this much delayed film. Jagga Jasoos is the story of a young detective who sets out to look for his missing father on a journey and embarks on a life-changing adventure. Said to be a musical the film is rumoured to have 29 songs.

Blast From The Past - Arshad Warsi and Sajid Khan Were Background Dancers In A Jeetendra-Kimi Katkar Song by Suhel Johar

  Many are aware of the fact that before making it big as an actor, Arshad Warsi was a choreographer but not many know that he was a background dancer to Jeetendra and Kimi Katkar in this 1989 action film, Aag Se Khelenge . In fact, not just Arshad Warsi, the song, Help Me from Aag Se Khelenge, also featured director/host Sajid Khan, choreographer Longinus Fernandes aka Longi and DJ Akbar Sami. Music for the song was composed by RD Burman and it was written by Anand Bakshi. Its not easy to recognise Arshad Warsi and Sajid Khan in this song which was choreographed by Chinni Prakash.
