Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega Host Sunil Grover Is Coming Up With The Comedy Family by Suhel Johar.
Indeed the two comedians, Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, have parted ways and the separation has neither been surprising or amicable, but whatever followed the news of their separation has been more disheartening for Kapil Sharma. Nothing has gone in Kapil Sharma‘s favour ever since his inflight brawl with Sunil Grover. He not only got slammed by his own fans but by fellow TV actors as well. No amount of apologetic tweets could salvage the situation for him. The show may have finished its 100th episode recently but the future looks bleak for the show. Sony, the channel that airs the show, is in no mood to renew their contract with the comedian-actor which means it is the end of the road for The Kapil Sharma Show.
The channel
is definitely not ready to pay Rs 107 crore for a show which is getting them
nothing. Kapil might negotiate but the channel heads are shocked and have
decided to scrap it. All the tricks in the book, to lure the audience back to
the show, have failed and the show has fallen flat. The Kapil Sharma Show going off air seems imminent now and it’s just
a matter of time when an official announcement is made in this regard. This is
how big a price Kapil Sharma has had to pay for his drunken fight with Sunil
Grover on that fateful flight. Sony
is in the process of reviving its Salman Khan show Dus Ka Dum. At the moment Sony TV has been in communication with
Salman Khan and if they are able to strike a deal Dus Ka Dum is most likely to replace The Kapil Sharma Show.
Ever since
the fight happened, even rival channel Colors (who have a long standing issue
with Kapil) had approached Sunil for a show but he did not show any interest in
it. Because it is no secret that Sony TV chose to be by side in his fight with
Kapil Sharma.
After
quitting the Kapil Sharma Show, Sunil has been seen on Sony’s Indian Idol finale, where he had the
audience in splits and the episode was a huge success. He made his latest
appearance on Sony TV’s Sabse Bada
Kalakar along with Ali Asghar, last weekend. Sunil re-enacted Dr. Mashoor
Gulati while Ali Asgar played a nurse in the show and regaled everyone with
their comedy act.
The first
season of the show in 2009 was hosted by Mona Singh and Vishal Malhotra, and
the judges were Anu Malik and Farah Khan. The last season was hosted by Krushna
Abhishek and Mona Singh, but it seems this season Sunil will entertain as a
host. Anu Malik and Farah Khan are likely to continue as judges, though the
makers are looking at bringing in some more people. Incidentally, Krushna
Abhishek and Mona Singh, are hosting a similar show India Banega Manch on Colors TV.
Till the
time Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi
Karega goes on air Sunil has been busy doing live shows and gigs in the
character of Dr. Mashoor Gulati from the The Kapil Sharma Show part from making
appearances on Sony TV’s other shows. Sony has copyrights to his characters -
Rinku bhabi and Dr Mashoor Gulati - and they also earn a chunk of money from
his live shows where he performs in his avatars.
We can see
in the The Comedy Family show poster
how Sunil Grover has taken a place at the centre. Instead of Kapil Sharma, he
is going to be the showman, and all the characters who have been missing from
the The Kapil Sharma Show are going
to be seen as well along with Sunil.
