Reema Lagoo Passes Away.


The veteran actress, who is most remembered for her roles as a mother , breathed her last early this morning at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Andheri West. Lagoo was admitted in the hospital at 1 a.m. (IST) on 18 May 2017 after she complained of chest pain. She died at 3:15 a.m. (IST) from cardiac arrest. The Late actress’ body was cremated at the Oshiwara Crematorium in Mumbai at 2 p.m. (IST).

Though Lagoo started out with television serials, she was prominently recognised for her roles in both Hindi and Marathi films. She debuted in films in 1979 with the Marathi film Sinhasan. 

She first rose to prominence with the Hindi film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) where she played Juhi Chawla's mother. She was seen in a controversial role in Aruna Raje's Rihaee (1988). She then starred in the blockbuster film Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) as Salman Khan's mother and then in Saajan (1991), also a superhit success at the box office. She starred in action drama and crime thriller Gumrah (1993) as Sridevi's mother , Jai Kishen (1994) as Akshay Kumar's mother, Dilwale (1994) as Ajay Devgan's mother and Rangeela (1995) as Urmila Matondkar's mother.

She had played on-screen mother to stars like Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan among others. Some of her other noteworthy movies include Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Vaastav,  Kal Ho Na Ho, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Hum Saath Saath Hain.
Not just in Bollywood, she was much popular in the TV industry as well. She had featured in TV shows like Tu Tu Main Main, Shriman Shrimati, and several others. Reema was part of the ongoing TV show Naamkaran in a negative character.

Blast From The Past - Arshad Warsi and Sajid Khan Were Background Dancers In A Jeetendra-Kimi Katkar Song by Suhel Johar

  Many are aware of the fact that before making it big as an actor, Arshad Warsi was a choreographer but not many know that he was a background dancer to Jeetendra and Kimi Katkar in this 1989 action film, Aag Se Khelenge . In fact, not just Arshad Warsi, the song, Help Me from Aag Se Khelenge, also featured director/host Sajid Khan, choreographer Longinus Fernandes aka Longi and DJ Akbar Sami. Music for the song was composed by RD Burman and it was written by Anand Bakshi. Its not easy to recognise Arshad Warsi and Sajid Khan in this song which was choreographed by Chinni Prakash. Incidentally, it was Sajid Khan, who when he joined Twitter, had shared the video with his followers and had explained about it.
