"Jo aurat ka dard nahi samjhta... usey bhagwan mard nahi samjhta!".  This is a dialogue from the upcoming film, Phullu which is about a man’s story to help women embrace sanitary napkins, It is film that’s daring to disclose what India keeps hush-hush about even in 2017: Menstruation. The taboo around menstruation in India is so deep that women are still considered ‘impure’ when they have their period.

However, India’s patriarchal and sexist systems have never been challenged so much as they are being now – with campaigns like #LahuKaLagaan, #HappyToBleed, #IAmNotDown and #TaxFreeWings storming the internet. At such a time – the trailer of Phullu has piqued a lot of curiosity and will hopefully break open the conversation even further, into our living rooms and schools. It looks like the story of one man fighting to ensure access to sanitary pads for the women in his village, while the elders look open-mouthed and openly disapprove of his ‘immoral antics’.

Ladies Sangeet Is A Hard-Hitting Story Filled With Compassion, Sympathy And Trauma.   It was after quite some time that I got to go to Prithvi Theatre at Juhu, Mumbai. It’s always been such a pleasure to be there and soak in its soothing atmosphere. So when I was invited to watch the Hindi-English play Ladies Sangeet play I just couldn’t refuse. Blast From The Past - Arshad Warsi and Sajid Khan Were Background Dancers In A Jeetendra-Kimi Katkar Song by Suhel Johar

  Many are aware of the fact that before making it big as an actor, Arshad Warsi was a choreographer but not many know that he was a background dancer to Jeetendra and Kimi Katkar in this 1989 action film, Aag Se Khelenge . In fact, not just Arshad Warsi, the song, Help Me from Aag Se Khelenge, also featured director/host Sajid Khan, choreographer Longinus Fernandes aka Longi and DJ Akbar Sami. Music for the song was composed by RD Burman and it was written by Anand Bakshi. Its not easy to recognise Arshad Warsi and Sajid Khan in this song which was choreographed by Chinni Prakash. Incidentally, it was Sajid Khan, who when he joined Twitter, had shared the video with his followers and had explained about it.
